Cuba 2008: Sun, sea and cigars

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by Che Guevara. When my parents said that they were going to Cuba for their 25th wedding anniversary, I just had to tag along.

We stayed at the fabulous Hotel Nacional de Cuba – which opened in 1930 and has been visited by Frank Sinatra, Ernest Hemingway and Winston Churchill, among others – and explored Havana and other parts of the island, stopping to visit Guevara’s mausoleum along the way.
