This is one of my favourite photographs that I took while I was recently in Canada.
I was nearing the end of my trip and had returned to Vancouver after visiting the Canadian Rockies. I thought that I might not see as much wildlife now I was back in the city, but I was wrong. There was an abundance of birds, plenty of squirrels and even a raccoon.
I took this photograph while in Stanley Park. I saw the bird sitting on top of one of the park’s famous totems and liked how a physical bird was sitting on the head of a Thunderbird or Eagle, frequent symbols used by the First Nations.
