Canada 2016: Grizzly Bear

There are so many to choose from but one of the elements of my recent trip to Canada that I enjoyed the most was wildlife spotting.

Without wanting to jinx myself I had been secretly hoping that I would spot a bear. I was lucky enough to finish the trip seeing three – one Black Bear and two Grizzly Bears.

Seeing them in the wild was a magical experience. This photograph is of the third bear I saw, what looked to be a juvenile Grizzly. I saw it in the Peter Lougheed Provincial Park in Alberta. The case around its neck is a tracking device, as with just 20,000 remaining, Grizzlies are listed as a ‘Special Concern’ species in Canada.
