Cotswold Lavender: July 2016

Courtesy of an account I follow on Instagram I recently discovered and visited the beautiful Cotswold Lavender shortly before it started harvesting.

Located in the village of Snowshill in the Cotswolds – an incredibly pretty place that I have stayed at before and will shortly be staying at again – Cotswold Lavender has an incredible 90 acres of lavender packed with almost half a million plants.

It was a joy to visit and see such beautiful flowers in bloom.

I particularly like this photograph. The butterfly was, unfortunately, moving too quickly to stay in focus. How the photograph turned out works well, I think, with the lavender in the forefront in focus and the butterfly and surrounding lavender out of focus.
