Purple Haze

Something that I do not think I will ever tire of photographing is flowers. Their vivid colours, delicate petals, insect visitors – there is a lot going on.

When taking photographs of flowers you have the opportunity to hone your macro skills.

I took this photograph in a park in Swansea in August last year. I enjoyed playing around with the composition, keeping the foreground in focus while blurring the background, and vice versa. What I settled on in this photograph was something in-between.
